Fred Curiel is an interesting and complex man. He's been described as somebody who is very conscientious. He has also been described as a computer expert. He holds a very respectable job as an analyst and has impressive credentials. His home reflects a deep respect for environmental and ecological issues. Although some may find his lifestyle slightly unconventional, he also appears to be a man of strong character who strives to do the right thing.

At Scott's preliminary hearing, Fred testified. His testimony was crucial concerning the prosecutions case. According to the prosecution, Pamela Vitale was attacked by Scott Dyleski at about 10:12 a.m. Prior to 10:12 a.m., they contend computer records indicated Pamela surfed the internet at home. Fred's preliminary hearing testimony was very detailed and outlined as he told the court he was certain Scott Dyleski was home from his walk by 9:26 a.m., thus making it impossible for Scott to have been at the Vitale home at 10:12.

During Scott Dyleski's trial, the media began to report what Hal Jewett tried to imply in court-- that something was wrong with the recall of Fred Curiel. Fred Curiel struggled to stay afloat under the brilliant manipulative tactics of the seasoned prosecutor. When Hal Jewett asked Fred, who had never been a drug user or person with impairment problems if he was on medication, Fred answered no, but Jewett succeeded in making him a non-credible witness to the jury, and laughs were heard in court. His detailed testimony was lost.

Question from wingnut: Was there any testimony you totally discounted?

Peter De Cristofaro:
It was either Fred or David, the brothers, I'm trying to remember which is which - we pretty much discounted one. Harold Jewett actually asked one of them if he was on medication during his testimony because he seemed a little spaced out. And I know that many of the other jurors pretty much discounted what he was talking about. I'm just at a loss to remember the name - whether it was Fred or his brother. Source
